Greentree Ceremonies

Some key things I provide are:

  • Unlimited support for the creation and performing of your ceremony.
  • State-of-the-art PA system is based around a hands free headset mike with a wireless transmitter on my belt. There are up to 5 additional wireless and corded microphones for both special readers and the bride & groom to use during the ceremony. The amplifier is designed to cover gatherings of up to 500 people, so everyone will hear what’s said. The system is entirely portable running off battery power. It is unchallenged as the best system in use by a celebrant in not just the Hunter Region, but Sydney as well.
  • FREE Name Change Kit – All my couples receive a FREE name change kit on their wedding day. All needed forms such as driver’s licence, ATO, electoral Commission etc are included. All you require is your new Certificate of Marriage, which I can obtain for you as part of registration of your marriage.
  • Comprehensive Wedding Compendium – which includes a truly enormous range of material in over 400 pages. You have the manual on loan until we develop the ceremony you want (there is a refundable $20 deposit required. My brides tell me it is simply the best of any celebrant they have encountered. I do not offer a choice of fixed ceremonies, rather, I have broken the marriage ceremony into its individual components and offer huge choice within each section. Put simply, you build your ceremony “brick by brickā€ to produce exactly what you want. You will be simply amazed at what choice is available to you, it truly facilitating you expressing yourselves through your ceremony.
  • A small table for the signing, complete with table cloths and chair.
  • Lectern for use during readings etc.
  • Wind resistant candle protectors for use during candle ceremonies
  • Sand ceremony kits including Port Stephens white sand and Port Stephens black sand.

I conduct weddings in the following cultural formats:

  • Conventional Australian ceremonies: – for conventional weddings, but my wide-range of rituals and alternatives enables you to either have a standard conventional wedding, or produce a ceremony very different from the normal.
  • Ancient Scottish ceremonies: – include the ancient Scottish wedding rituals adapted to Australian civil format. I wear my kilt, and a piper plays before, at signing and after the ceremony. The ceremony is spectacularly different from conventional Australian weddings and includes the Celtic asking and ring exchange, Celtic hand fasting, Bell of Truce and Jumping the Besom, and sharing of wine rituals. My ceremony commences unlike any ceremony you or your friends have ever seen before – it is just awesome! Two formats are offered – the Simplified Format with most of the rituals in a simplified format, and the Complex Format, which features wonderful traditions from Arthurian and Grail legends. The complex form is a deeply spiritual and emotional ceremony.
  • Ancient Celtic: – like the ancient Scottish, the ancient Celtic ceremony is very different from a modern-day ceremony. I have had many remark on its deep levels of spirituality. This and the ancient Scottish are my favourite ceremonies. Two formats are offered – the Simplified Format with most of the rituals in a simplified format, and the Complex Format, which features wonderful traditions from Arthurian and Grail legends. The complex form is a deeply spiritual and emotional ceremony.
  • Orthodox ceremonies and Variants: – including Greek, Macedonian, Serbian, Rumanian, Bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian and Armenian ceremonies adapted to Australian civil format. If you are after all the rituals such as the crowning ceremony, but without the religion, then this is the ceremony.
  • Chinese ceremonies: – based upon ancient Chinese traditions adapted to Australian civil format.
Buddhist ceremonies: – with the various traditions and rituals adapted to Australian civil format.
  • Hindu ceremonies: – in which I am experienced with working as the celebrant performing the legal requirements in conjunction and fully integrated with the ceremony provided by a Hindu priest.
  • Other cultural including Islamic: – I am more than happy to take cultural traditions and adapt them to Australian civil format. I am experienced in weddings between Islamic and non-Islamic individuals, and other couples of mixed race.
Cross-cultural ceremonies: – an absolute delight to plan and perform. I have some special rituals for these ceremonies.
  • Spiritualist ceremonies: – for those who have the knowledge.
  • I will willingly work alongside a religious practitioner in a combined ceremony, provided the religious is enlightened enough to reciprocate.

I am a full-time professional celebrant, not a weekend part-timer. I cover a wide range of celebrant activities and above all else, thoroughly enjoy performing wedding ceremonies, my promise to you that if not different from the usual, they are simply better than usual.
